  • In May 2024, AVON with its 100% recyclable and reusable packaging material had partnered with Amcor to develop a refill pouch that was made of ‘recycle-ready’ material. The AmPrima Plus refill pouch aimed to reduce carbon footprint by 83% and water consumption by 88% while it also provided barrier properties, stiffness, and graphics performance. 
  • In March 2024, Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company in collaboration with Berry Global developed a barrier coating that had beaten the degradation, contamination, and reprocessing issues related to EVOH and which had gained validation from the Association of Plastics Recycler (APR). Berry Global provided its global connection and leadership expertise to the MXD6 barrier while Mitsubishi provided material.
  • In May 2024, BOBST in collaboration with Henkel had developed optimized machine operations and paper-based flexible packaging barriers. BOBST’s four pillars and Henkel’s 2030+ Sustainability Ambition framework had certified recyclable levels of its oneBARRIER and the result was 98%.
