Duni Group, a leading dining and food packaging solutions company in Sweden, acquired an 80% stake in Linepack, a Finnish company specializing in automated packaging solutions in the food sector. The acquisition was made to enhance Duni’s Duniform brand to mark technological advancements and provide local Finnish expertise in packaging. The acquisition is expected to double the revenue of the latter’s food packaging in the Finnish Market. It also helps the Duni Group to offer a more technical and comprehensive range of products and services, backed by advanced technological research and knowledge.
Chief Officer of Duni Group, Nicklas Lauwell, said, “LinePack has built a strong position through technical excellence and close customer relationships. By becoming part of Duni Group, LinePack gains access to resources and networks that can further accelerate its development.” He also added that the company is focused on making strategic steps for growing in demanding areas, which promote sustainability and efficient solutions.
LinePack is also a major industry player that provides professional design, installation, equipment, provision of spare parts, and maintenance for automated packaging systems. “Joining Duni Group gives us access to a larger customer base, broader market channels, and resources that will enable us to grow faster and deliver even more value to our customers, “ said LinePack CEO Sami Mäenpää. He also mentioned that they are looking forward to combining their technical expertise with Duni Group’s strength, which will drive the development of the next-gen packaging solutions.
The company is also set to launch a new take-away series, which is a combination of recyclability and enhanced functionality. The new launch will use use grey plastic base instead of the traditional black plastic, which cannot be identified by optical sorting systems, hence it ends up in residual waste.
