UFLEX to Expand its PET Recyclable Woven Polypropylene Food Packaging to Mexico

In April 2025, Uflex announced plans to develop a new industrial setup in Mexico, dedicated to creating woven polypropylene (WPP) bags specially for the pet food industry. The inventiveness is to fulfil the growing demand across the region of North and South America and shows a huge shift of industry in the direction of regional production and supply chain market. The best packaging resource for pet food includes composite films such as duplex films, triplex films, and often multi-coated films. These are manufactured into convenient pouches (Doypacks) or box-shaped flat-bottom pouches, which can be easily stackable, for the packaging of huge quantities of dry food. Metallized PET films are considered suitable, as they are mainly tear-resistant and less inclined to creasing in comparison to aluminum foil. Though there is a danger of bug invasion in opened dry food packets but this launch works as a solution to all these issues. These new bags are designed for dry food for pets, and are valued for their high strength, resealability, and moisture resistance — features that help preserve product quality and extend the shelf life of the products.

Uflex has launched several other packaging products in 2024. ‘B-UUB-M' is an outstanding barrier metallized BOPP film launched in 2024 that is customized for packaging biscuits, dry fruits, snacks, beverages, chips, cookies, and other confectionery and chocolate products. These packaging comes with a moisture barrier (<0.05 g/m2/day) and oxygen transmission rate (<0.1cc/m2/day), which safeguards extended freshness and quality preservation. UFlex has also established F-POX excellent moisture and oxygen barrier transparent BOPET film utilized for dry and frozen food packaging usage. Another product, named Flexcryl 6666, is a halogen-free, sustainable polyester acrylate boasting adhesion to paper, metals, and plastics, along with hardness, heat resistance, and fast curing. Personalized for topcoats and applications comprising screen printing, flexography, wet lithographic inks, and dry offset. Flexcryl 6666, facilitates as an important raw resource facilitating backward incorporation in EB and UV coatings and inks manufacture, which improves control over charges, quality, and time with rapid UV curing, adhesion, and lithographic properties.
