ReCB LLC Opens Production Facility in Des Moines

ReCB Lowa LLC, a subsidiary of ReCB LLC, has announced the launch of a facility in Des Moines to serve the domestic end market for post-consumer food and beverage cartons. The launch of the facility is producing Everboard, a performance building material that helps reduce the use of virgin materials in the construction industry.

The facility was acquired at the start of this year, where they mainly invested in equipment and technology upgrades to improve the capacity. It is expected to reach the maximum operation status in the next month, where it will upcycle around 10,000 tons of cartons on an annual basis.

Jan Rayman, the Managing Director at ReCB LLC, said, 

“We’re supplying the construction sector with premium, sustainable materials while conserving natural resources, cutting carbon emissions, and driving demand for recycled cartons across the U.S. This is how targeted investments in recycling infrastructure deliver scalable, circular economy solutions.”

The transformation includes gable top and aseptic cartons into premium roof cover board and moisture and mould-resistant materials. The system does not use harmful materials, formaldehyde adhesives, or water. IT ensures the use of heat and pressure for producing resilient and advanced performance-based boards, which are sustainable and durable than the traditional ones.

The company is in partnership with the Carton Council, Upcycling Group, and Elof Hansson, where they are working on building another facility in Lodi. The facility will work along with Des Moines to boost the domestic carton recycling infrastructure and reinforce the cruciality between the collection program and markets.

Jordan Fengal, the executive director at Carton Council, also expressed his views by saying, “Continued access to carton recycling is essential. We need people to keep recycling their food and beverage cartons so we can keep them out of landfills and reintegrate them into the market.” He further added that facility reopening and the expansion portray the growing momentum of domestic carton recycling and their commitment towards sustainability.
