SuperPod™ ACG Packagings New Offering Targets Efficient Packaging Solutions

ACG Packaging Materials, which produces a range of film and foil blister and lidding goods, has announced its breakthrough cold-form blister technology, SuperPod™. Offering meaningful advances in sustainability and efficacy, SuperPod™ allows blister cavities to become intensely smaller by up to 39% in some cases while preserving full barrier performance and seamless machine runnability. This cold-form invention results in a significantly decreased packaging footprint, lesser material and resource usage per dosage across the lifecycle, and therefore, decreased charges and carbon emissions.

Traditional cold-form aluminum blister cavities are huge because they cannot be drawn intensely without the risk of aluminum rupture. Larger cavities increase the size of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging, resulting in higher resource consumption, warehouse space needs, and logistics charges. The core invention behind SuperPod™ lies in a larger multi-layer laminate engineered for excellent cold-drawing ability, enabling deep-draw cavity creation while retaining the full defensive properties of cold-form aluminum. A well-planned format also upsurges the number of blisters per shot by up to three times in some cases, freeing up production volume and dropping manufacturing charges.

SuperPod™ safeguards smooth and dependable performance on existing high-speed packaging lines. In addition, it is accessible with both PVC-based and halogen-free sealing layers. Together, these advantages make SuperPod™ a compelling explanation for producers seeking to enhance both operational efficacy and ecological impact.

Dr Akbar Ali, General Manager and Head of Development and Technology, ACG Packaging Materials, expressed, “Were excited to debut SuperPod™ at Pharmapack 2026. The technology efficiently makes cold-form blisters lighter by dropping material usage per dosage. We see noteworthy opportunities, mainly for high-count formats such as 20-count vitamins and B-complex capsules, where traditional cold-form blisters become impracticably large. It also makes remarkably well for moisture-sensitive and oncology goods, where decreased headspace and narrower cavity spacing support minimizing gas and moisture exposure, providing improved protection. SuperPod™ has already experienced testing with major pharmaceutical producers on high-speed blister lines, representing performance comparable to standard cold-form resources, but with far greater forming capability.”

Jochen Scheil, Vice President, Global Sales and Business Development, said, “The launch of SuperPod™ inspires the industry to rethink decades-old design conventions and hold smaller, smarter, and more sustainable blister arrangements. Digital tools like QR codes and electronic leaflets further help this transition by decreasing reliance on large blister surface areas for printed data.”
