Reconomy has entered into a partnership with Polytag, a leading tag-and-trace technology provider. The circular economy aims to stand tall with customers by helping them reduce packaging waste and enhance recyclability. Polytag’s spectacular trace technology and UV tag detection will be on display at Casepak’s Materials Recycling Facility, a Reconomy brand. This partnership provides a solution for brands that want to promote real-time point-to-point data, calculate each packaging recycling move, and track product recycling rates.
This learning will be sustainable progress, as it will assess whether the progress report is accurate and in compliance with the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements. Following this, the process can do much justice by redesigning packaging content for further use as lightweight alternative packaging, cutting down carbon footprint, and compliance costs.
One of Reconomy’s brands, Valpak, will be part of the backbone of the data unification into the brand’s reporting systems. This collaboration will double the power, with a positive shift in the company’s internal position, following the technology's potential, and delivering data. Valpak earns the trust of all and stands true to its valuable contribution, as it operates a large product and packaging database in the UK that is always working for the major supermarkets.
By installing this robust technology, the Ecotrace Program will gain momentum. The program is an industry-wide effort to achieve precision in the packaging recycling transparency. Retailers, including Waitrose & Partners, Marks & Spencer, and Ocado Retail, largely support the program.
The Commercial Director at Casepak, Georgina Cullen, said,
“We’re excited for Polytag’s technology installation at our recycling facility. This partnership shows the power of Reconomy’s slightly different offerings, combining our operational smartness in recycling with Valpak’s data potential and Polytag’s traceability technology. We’re looking forward to getting headed along with Polytag to leverage the move to a circular economy.”
The Chief Executive Officer at Valpak, Steve Gough, said,
“Valpak implements the insights served by our product database and unrivalled packaging, popular in the UK, to guide the customers to fulfil the mandate compliance needs, cut costs, and reduce their carbon footprint. The rising demand for super transparency and systematic reporting has brought this partnership on board with the new pathway to our data resources.”
