Nature Valley Packaging Encourages Spending More Time with Nature

In July 2026, Nature Valley revealed its unique and innovative packaging and merchandise kits inspired by the national parks of the US, hoping to encourage consumers to visit these beautiful national parks on a large scale and spend more time amongst the beauty of nature.

The long-term partnership of Nature Valley with the National Park Foundation has resulted in a limited edition pack with packaging displaying artworks of nature reserves across its popular product range.

The Nature Valley Crunchy lineup range packaging displays the famous and lush green Yosemite and Redwood National Parks on the lineup’s boxes and wrappers. The sweet and salty bars depict the majestic Grand Canyon alongside Arches and Acadia National Parks. Such attractive packaging can attract people of different age groups, helping to revive their old national park visits, and also attracts the Gen Z to aid their unboxing experience on various social media platforms.

The Nature Valley’s protein bars feature geysers and wilderness associated with Yellowstone National Park, and the Nature Valley biscuit sandwiches product showcases Joshua Tree National Park. The limited edition packaging of these products not only compels Gen Z to stay in the trend but also attracts millennials to make it a part of their collectibles, a highly observed 90s and old generation hobby, to keep their memories with that product alive.

“Nature Valley has partnered with the National Park Foundation for more than fifteen years to support park restoration, outdoor education, and expanded access to the parks while helping more people connect with the outdoors,” said Scott Baldwin, VP and Business Unit director for Bars at General Mills. “This summer, we’re honouring that longstanding partnership by helping more people discover the beauty of America’s national parks and get outside to experience them firsthand.”

The well-renowned brand also reports that its partnership with the National Park Foundation has helped to restore more than 20,000 miles of trails across parks such as Mount Rainier, Grand Teton, Yosemite, and the Grand Canyon.

The brand also proudly and wholeheartedly claims to have donated $35 million to support conservation projects, youth education programs, and expanded access to national parks, as without trees, there would be no pleasant day on this planet.

The limited-edition packaging is currently available at major retailers across the United States. Each also appears in Nature Valley’s new National Park Adventure Kits, which contain an America the Beautiful Annual Resident Pass and exclusive park-themed merchandise such as tote bags, sun-protection neck gaiters, and belt bags.

The collaboration’s limited-edition packaging will appear across some of Nature Valley’s most popular products, each featuring scenic artwork, including:

  • Nature Valley Crunchy, Yosemite and Redwood: Towering cliffs, giant redwoods, and scenic California landscapes now appear across Crunchy bar packaging.
  • Nature Valley Sweet & Salty, Grand Canyon, Arches, and Acadia: Rugged canyon views, dramatic rock formations, and coastal scenery bring a new look to Sweet & Salty bars.
  • Nature Valley Protein, Yellowstone: Yellowstone’s famous geysers and wide-open wilderness take over the Protein bar packaging.
  • Nature Valley Biscuit Sandwiches, Joshua Tree: Striking desert landscapes and signature twisted Joshua trees shape the latest look for Biscuit Sandwich packages.

The main aim of the revamped packaging planned by the Vice President and Business Unit Director for Bars at General Mills involves funding the park restoration, outdoor education, and improved park access, to connect more people with nature. He also mentioned that the company is celebrating the partnership by encouraging more individuals to discover and personally experience the beauty of these national parks.

In early 2026, Chick-fil-A also announced its own limited-edition packaging run in the U.S. To celebrate their 80th anniversary, the fast food chain revealed four standard designs inspired by ‘iconic looks’ from its past and present, along with 3,000 specialty Golden Fan Cups, allowing consumers to get a chance to win a year’s worth of free meals.

Another similar example involves Hershey’s and The Pokémon Company International, which joined forces to celebrate thirty years of the Pokémon franchise with a limited-edition packaging collection. They developed a ‘narrative-driven experience’ across smart packaging and social media that gave consumers the chance to win prizes.

Another memorable collaboration of Coca-Cola with the FIFA World Cup unveiled new packaging this year. It includes peel-back labels that reveal collectable Panini stickers in North America, limited-edition cans that enter Canadian fans into a sweepstakes to win themed prizes. Coca-Cola China’s work with Smurfit Westrock develop paper-based packaging for its World Cup lineup, including an eight-can gift pack with space for a football-themed souvenir.
