Presto Products Company’s fresh-lock brand, a known reclosable flexible packaging technology, is unveiling two innovations that will make space for the next generation of slider technology. The fresh-lock ergo ultra slider improves accessibility to consumers with its ease and contoured design. Whereas, the highly projected child-guard edge slider system introduces child-resistant functionality to the compact pouches, which uncovers new opportunities for flexible packaging. The combination of accessibility and sustainable packaging materials is designed to provide the same satisfaction as its functions. The fresh-lock ergo ultra technology merges an easy grip polyethylene slider design with the reliable and smooth polyethylene. Ergo ultra is made of recyclable materials, contributing to the mono-material pouch solutions, and proves its potency as a pouch component for the How2Recycle store drop-off program. Its small-scale size uses less material, serving a low-profile, resistant format and improved sustainability.
The sustainable, e-commerce-ready, and lightweight solutions already exist in flexible packaging, long delivered to the brands. By far, child-resistant slider formats were only introduced for larger pouches because of the standard slider size and the opening width limitation. The child-guard edge was engineered mainly for small-width pouches with a end number of cycle counts. It highlights a limited track and scale slider that, when aligned with a compatible film and accurate conversion technique, allows brands to produce a vast range of child-resistant pouches. This innovation shows the countless benefits of slider reclosability, involving durability, child-resistant functionality, and visual affirmation to convert into compact-width pouches, without compromising the convenient opening space. The flexible packaging gets an opportunity to dig into new design certainties for regulated applications without compromising accessibility with the child-guard edge.
The fresh-lock director of business development and sustainability, Todd Meussling, said,
“The fresh-lock team is ambitious to bolster innovation and promote sustainability throughout the flexible packaging industry. Be it any market, if you have a product that requires reclosable packaging, then we would want to give you the best alternative that will work. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce child-guard edge and ergo ultra to offer options for pouch converters and bring a vast marketplace with a solution. The ergo ultra improves accessibility for regular consumers with potential benefits, and child-guard edge provides compact format child-resistant pouches. This innovation will pave the way for new opportunities for brands to accelerate the advantages of flexible packaging.”
