Schick® & Skintimate® Unveil Free Recycling Program for Disposable Razors and Packaging

Schick® and Skintimate®, leading shave care brands under Edgewell Personal Care, have launched the Edgewell Schick and Skintimate Free Recycling Program in collaboration with TerraCycle®, a global recycling innovator. This initiative enables customers across the continental U.S. to collect and recycle all Schick® and Skintimate® disposable razors and their plastic packaging through TerraCycle®. While the cardboard packing materials can be recycled curbside, where recognized. Schick and Skintimate introduced the Edgewell Schick and Skintimate Free Recycling Program, in partnership with TerraCycle, a recycling leader.

The Edgewell Schick and Skintimate Free Recycling Program provides customers with a simple way to dispose of hard-to-recycle products. By collecting and recycling one-use razors and their packaging, these hard-to-recycle products are kept out of landfills and incinerators.

"Razors are made from a mix of metal and plastic, which means most local recycling services cant process these products. As a result, customers are frequently left without a real recycling choice," said Tom Szaky, Founder and CEO of TerraCycle. "The Edgewell Schick and Skintimate Free Recycling Program reports this challenge by giving customers a free, nationwide choice to recycle these goods and make disposal easier."

To participate, customers can visit the Edgewell Schick and Skintimate Free Recycling Program to sign up and download a free transport label. Utilized Schick and Skintimate disposable razors, and the related plastic packaging can be disposed of in any safe, puncture-proof box. Once complete, the box can be sealed, labeled, and sent to TerraCycle for recycling. Plastics are processed into pellets used to make goods like park benches, decking, and picnic tables, and metals are produced into sheeting, bar stock, or ingots that serve as base materials for stamped products such as rings, nuts, bolts, and washers.

"Our well-loved brands are always looking for new ideas and advanced options to bring joy to everyday life," expressed Amy Knight, Vice President, Global Sustainability at Edgewell Personal Care. "Through our collaboration with TerraCycle, were providing a convenient recycling option that supports customers in giving goods a second life, showcasing our sustainability plan to help circularity where possible, and inspiring more participation in recycling."
