Bangaluru Milk Union Limited (Bamul) started supplying Nandini milk in environment-friendly wrappers. This supply is starting from the Kanakapura Mega Dairy on the special occasion of World Environment Day. Earlier, the milk used to be supplied in polyethylene bags, which are harmful to the environment. The growing milk demand reminders BAMUL to set up additional capability.
BAMUL is preparing to capitalize INR 426 crore in introducing the ability, and it will be a completely automatic dairy that will produce milk and make several other dairy products like paneer, cheese, and various other products. The milk is wholesaled under the company name Nandini, and the Nandini brand captures four-fifths marketplace in the urban market by marketing 2.2 million litres, but the present services do not appear proficient enough to handle the arrival of milk, so the persistence of introductory another facility arises.
At present, 64 products are retailed under the Nandini company, and the business representatives and Karnataka Cooperative Milk Producers' Federation (KMF) trust that opening up additional units will increase the marketplace share of BAMUL by 5%. BAMUL is planning to open around 1,000 Nandini outlets soon in Bangalore as it goals to produce more by-products in order to receive healthy limitations and better serve the welfare of the dairy segment. The Karnataka Cooperative Milk Producers' Federation (KMF) is fortified by the healthy development rate of its superior ultra-high temperature (UHT) milk, which potentials a 12-24-week shelf life.
The making of this product began around 18 years ago, but the development has speed up in the last 3 to 4 years. Additionally, the federation has strategies to change a noteworthy ratio of its milk into UHT milk. This company is the first milk federation in India to launch biodegradable packaging for milk. Former MP and Bamul Director, D. K. Suresh, expressed, “Bamul has proudly introduced biodegradable milk packets for the first time in India. This pilot initiative marks a new setup by our cooperative to curb plastic pollution on World Environment Day.”
