Kind Snacks Launches its First Retail Pilot Program in the United States.

In May 2025, Kind Snacks launched its first pilot program for paper-based packages two years ago, but it was more restricted in scope. It was exclusively for 5,000 units existing for direct-to-customer e-commerce acquisitions made through the website of the company. Senior manager of sustainability communications at Kind, Lindsay Philpott, expressed, “Based on those results, we decided that we wanted to test at scale at the shelf. So that’s why we wanted the next test to be with a retail partner.”

Former to the retail trial, the paper wrapping underwent on-shelf testing and standard quality regulator, according to Mark Brogan, who is the vice president of R&D and consumer success at Printpack, who answered via email. The paper coverings have a blockade covering that defends the snack bars from moisture and oxygen, but the corporations degenerated into a debate over the exact resources because of the exclusive nature. However, they established that no PFAS is involved.

The paper and resistance power impact on food product shelf-life is one component under inspection in this pilot scheme. That phased line and the yearning for emerging ascendable sustainability creativities led this company to run the paper packaging as an additional pilot project as an alternative to launching as a full-scale, enduring addition. Other packaging businesses are also occupied with food consumers on paper-based flexible packing.
