Packaging Startup one.five Secures €14M to Tackle Market Alignment Issues

Since 2020, Hamburg-based one.five has been transforming the packaging supply chain through AI-powered innovations. The private company also offers sustainable alternatives to single-use plastics, producing materials for closed and hygienic loops, such as bioplastics and paper, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmentally responsible packaging solutions.

Claire Hae-Min Gusko and Martin Weber, the former executives, has smartly and dedicatedly built this powerful one.five base. The use of machine learning and an AI platform signifies how the company is ahead in exploring key transformations and biomaterial research in highly demanded products.

one.five raise a €14 million in Series A funding to elevate its data foundation and AI platform. This decision is an investment in future endeavors and a responsible step toward smart and defect-free packaging. This Series A funding rounds were supervised by Dr Riegel Holding along with the participants like Symbia VC, Zubi Capital, Btomorrow Ventures, 212 NexT, KIMPA Impact, and the company’s existing investors. With this money, the company will solve the product-market-fit problem in packaging and make space for cutting-edge technologies and improvement.

To the growing use and need of plastic fetching, not a very fair percentage, the right solution may bring a difference or certain change in the percentage. As per the observation of the German startup, 60% of R&D investment in the packaging sector is wasted behind those products that didn’t gain that profit commercially. one.five is focused on identifying this issue by installing product-market fit analysis straight into the development process.

The company says that its AI-powered platform is capable of refining this process by revising or recollecting the progressive crucial factors from the regulatory compliance and technical performance. This will focus on consumers’ positive perspectives and cost targets at the point of sale by turning it into a data-powered requirement list.

This will help and allow the R&D group to establish those products that are presentable at the market stage by their design. This will gain trust through products’ appealing and promising appearance in the vast market.

Co-founder and Managing Director of one.five, Martin Weber, said, “There are many packaging products that face failure even before reaching the market. This new funding enables us to extend our AI-sponsored Co-Pilot and improve our first-ever platform product, named ‘Product Market Fit Compass’. This platform product is specially made for technology providers like paper manufacturers.”
