Serpa, a packaging technology manufacturer, has announced the launch of DP260, a drop packer specially designed for personal care, food and household markets. The new technology is set to be introduced at the PACK EXPO to be held in Las Vegas from September 29- October 1.
DP260 is an automated case packaging solution that focuses on offering single and tandem drop options and is capable of achieving speeds of up to 60 cases at cost-effective pricing. The main motive behind the new drop packer is to provide easy use, adjustments in the lane and case sizes and quick maintenance operations.
Justin Neece, the Vice President and General Manager at Serpa, said,
“Serpa has been providing customers with a wide range of case packers with different loading types to meet their product needs. Now we’re expanding our portfolio to add a standard drop application to accommodate even more packaging requirements. By incorporating our tried-and-true machine design concepts of rapid, consistent changeovers, we’re able to offer customers a new drop packer solution that’s easy to use with speed and flexibility in mind.”
The DP series can accommodate a wider range of products of different sizes, which are then arranged in various formats. The series also marks the first entry of Serpa into the drop packing segment, which has helped the company to enable a new packaging solutions line in its portfolio offerings.
DP260 has already been bought by Clean Control Corporation and will be shipped to them after the EXPO at Warner Robins, GA, facility. The technology will be used in automating the production line of their spray bottles.
Technical Manager of Clean Control, Nic Bekkers, also mentioned that their case packing process is fully manual and labor intensive as of now, which has led to many complications in the process. He further emphasized the new machine by saying that it will enable them to mitigate bottlenecks and pain points and also increase their productivity.
