  • In April 2025, Bubbies Ice Cream, the mochi ice cream brand in the natural channel, is making significant progress toward sustainability with the introduction of its new certified home-compostable packaging.  Bubbies is introducing new paper pulp trays to replace its inside clamshell packaging in April, just in time for Earth Month.  As part of the brands effort to maintain a pristine paradise, this small but effective packaging change drastically lowers the companys plastic waste and will prevent about 310 tons of plastic from ending up in landfills annually.  These unique, certified home-compostable inner trays were created by Bubbies and Earthcycle in response to consumer demand for greener products.  75% of consumers say sustainability is crucial when making selections about what to buy, according to Diversitech Global.
  • In February 2025, The UN World Food Programme (WFP), the largest humanitarian organization in the world that provides food assistance to people recovering from conflicts, disasters, and the effects of climate change, has extended its partnership with Mondi Group, a global leader in sustainable packaging and paper, for an additional three years.  Modis technical know-how, R&D facilities, and financial support have helped WFP enhance and optimize packaging solutions in recent years to survive challenging handling, storage, and transportation conditions in areas hit by crises.  The partnerships 2024–2027 goals include finding more environmentally friendly substitutes for current packaging materials, assisting WFP food manufacturers in using recycled and virgin sustainable fiber, maximizing material consumption, and improving packaging quality.
  • In January 2025, Rottneros Packaging AB, a company focused on manufacturing molded fiber, revealed the introduction of the NATURE range of sustainable food packaging trays. 
  • In April 2024, Ranpak Holdings Corp. reported the introduction of naturemailer eco-friendly padded mailers and climaliner Plus temperature-protective paper liners for cold chain shipping in North America. On every day, including Earth Day, Ranpak demonstrates its dedication to global sustainability by using paper-based goods that are 100% recyclable at the curb. Climaliner Plus liners, the newest addition to Ranpaks RecyCold line, offer up to 72 hours of thermal protection, are 100% recyclable at the curb, and are safe for secondary food contact. This expands the companys range of cold chain solutions by offering options for longer shipping distances and climate control duration.
