Beyond Meat Redesigns Packaging to Enhance Recycling Efforts

Beyond Meat retains its position in the packaging market with a new packaging redesign across its retail range in Europe, officially ramping up over the coming months. In addition, the Beyond Burger Smash-Style, Beyond Mince, and Beyond Meatballs products will be launched in the UK this month. The company has entered the era of evolution, accelerating its business and contributing to the environment through its redesign of recyclable packaging.

As the year ends, Beyond Meat will enter a new phase of achieving greater specificity in the sustainable packaging market. This development will largely benefit the packaging sector, further attracting major brands to adopt the eco-friendly alternative in their production. Beyond Meat's new products will come in new packaging in the cold aisles of selected UK retailers from this month.

The redesigned trays contain 35% recycled plastic, which is well-suited to recycling. The new packaging cut the materials for labelling effectively than its existing features and designs, which accelerated the recycled content. Beyond Meat wants to develop a premium, sophisticated solution with fortified shelf impact. The newly harnessed grass-green shade is designed to align with the company’s commitment to plant-based ingredients, and the new product photography has grabbed attention on pack, spotlighting the brand’s taste and quality.

The packaging design and development manager for EMEA at Beyond Meat, Bente van Dam-Vernooij, said, “We’re thrilled to introduce enhanced recyclability, super shelf appeal, and robust brand presence to retailers and consumers throughout Europe with our new best packaging design.” Changing the branding strategy starts with a packaging redesign that attracts new and existing customers and maintains its position in the competitive packaging market.

Beyond Meat here claims that our innovation underwent independent consumer testing, with the new design ranking in the top 5% of over 1,700 redesigns. Following this, the consumers rated the design above average for its powerful physical appearance, clear labelling, and appetite appeal. The Beyond Meat packaging redesign was established in partnership with Equator Design, a packaging and brand design agency.

Bente added, “The refreshness improves the shelf standout while mitigating material use to help consumers with their choices for the animals, planet, and themselves. Considering everything while serving an appetising, modern look that keeps the delicious taste close to the heart of our brand, like the heartbeat of success.”
