Ricoh introduced a new printhead, MH3820, at Interpack. The new printhead is useful across marking and coding applications. The printhead is utilized across tertiary and secondary packaging applications. The printhead runs oil-based, UV-curable, and solvent-based inks.
The print swathe of the MH3820 Inkjet head is 108.2 mm. The new printhead has two rows of nozzles and 150 dpi resolution. Each row of the new printhead has 320 nozzles. The new printhead has three grey levels, and nozzles in each row run as a separate channel. The new printhead features two colors: spot color and black ink plus.
The new printhead has a long thin shape and consists of a stainless steel nozzle plate. The printhead takes fluids from 10 to 14 mPa.s. The MH3820 is a greater version of MH2620. The printhead supports higher temperatures and features a new piezo stack. The printhead offers higher drop velocities due to its higher pumping power. The new printhead is also used across additive manufacturing applications.
The company says they developed other variants of printhead in the future that provide temperature tolerance, different drop sizes, and fluid compatibility. The currently introduced printhead is developed at Ricohs California plant. The plant present in California manufactures printheads with lower resolution and larger drop size.
The MH380 head features an HDC-2R6XL electronic board, which is manufactured by Meteor Inkjet. The electronic board helps Meteor Nozzle Health Technology. The printhead has an ultra-slim design and is developed with a metal body. The MH380 head weighs 185g and has dual channels. The printhead is compatible with Ricoh MH-series models. The printhead offers benefits like longer throw distances, high-temperature compatibility, and enhanced industrial durability. The printhead is used across applications like high-speed coding, industrial identification, secondary packaging, logistics labeling, additive manufacturing, and high-speed marking.
