Sulapac Powers Sustainable Lip Mask Packaging with Bio Based Material for Yom Beauty

Sulapac has introduced its bio-based Sulapac Solid material for Yom Beauty's innovative lip mask packaging, combining premium design with sustainable performance. The collaboration highlights the growing demand for microplastic-free and eco-friendly cosmetic packaging solutions.

Sulapac Offers Bio-Based Material for Yom Beautys Lip Mask Packaging 

Sulapac Solid material has been chosen for Yom Beautys new lip mask packaging, backing the UK-based cosmetics brands development of what it defines as the worlds first LipSafe lip mask made completely with food-grade resources. The microplastic-free mask is promoted as safe under the perception that what goes on the lips also goes in. “We make lip formulations with that incidental journey in mind,” the company expresses. 

The lip mask uses Yom Beautys signature packaging idea recognized as “The Pebble.” The product packaging mixes food-grade glass with bio-based resources to offer a premium choice for beauty packaging. 

Katja Ahonen, international major account manager at Sulapac, tells Packaging Insights: “The spatula and the pearlescent cover of The Pebble are produced using Sulapac Solid, a completely bio-based resource planned as a sustainable substitute for traditional plastics, supporting both ecological targets and luxury aesthetics.” 

Complementary aesthetics and eco-friendliness 

According to Sulapac, the lip mask packaging is manufactured from mineral fillers and bio-based polymers, offering a ceramic-like feel for consumers. The option is also expressed to be PFAS-free and leaves no enduring microplastics behind. The resources for Yom Beautys Pebble packaging are produced in France by FaiveleyTech, a Sulapac-making partner specializing in enhanced-value-added plastic injection moulding for the beauty and health care industries. 

Now, more beauty industries are progressing towards sustainability in lip product packaging. Last year, Cosmogen provided the mens skin care company Horace with a post-consumer recycled PET stick for cosmetics packaging. Temporarily, Quadpack provided equipment to produce lip gloss dip-in bottles to its ability in Kierspe, Germany. The injection-moulding equipment was expected to help the brand produce mono-material packaging from PCR and PET. 

Before this month, Sulapac spoke to packaging insights about its biodegradable and bio-based extrusion resource planned for the requirements of cosmetic pen producers. 

Last year, Sulapac combined forces with Scanfill, a brand that grows packaging resources, to generate thermoformers across Europe that fulfil their consumers growing sustainability needs while maintaining the quality of the product and engineering performance.
