The world’s third-largest producer of robust flexible packaging, Constantia Flexibles, has joined hands to achieve a new milestone with its digital partner HP and Smartflex to deliver Modelez, along with the impressive and exciting seasonal campaign for Suchard, a Spanish heritage holiday. In a mission to transition the packaging to achieve an engaging personalised consumer experience, the accelerated HP Indigo 25k digital press, with 6.8 million, helped to produce the Suchard chocolate bars.
The HP’s Garage Program and Brands Innovation Platform, the campaign was in fruition in Spain, rememorizing the seasonal staple. The Suchard turron, for its personalised presence, was highlighted as it contains a high number of sales for Christmas.
Sponsored by the HP SmartStream Designer and HP Indigo 25k, around 6.8 million personalised packages with easy variable data control and accurate color consistency were produced with the short-term flexibility that completed the finalising process in six months. Among which, most of the packs have been sold out in the stores directly after the launch, as the demand was at its peak.
The HP Indigo 25K merges an accelerating digital production with the color control precision and large substrate compatibility. The potential to serve quality, personalised, flexible packaging at peak shows its deservingness and suitability to manage the infinite number of unique packs without sacrificing the visual consistency or turnaround times.
The campaign’s tagline is ‘Esta Navidad cada tableta es unica’, which means ‘This Christmas every tablet is unique’. To bring excitement into this campaign the Mondelez Spain produced a packaging-first activation that attracts retail transparency and emotional engagement in this heavy competitive time.
The Brand Manager for Chocolate seasonal Spain, Olaya Gonzalez, said,
“This campaign was possible because of HP’s support and innovation. We have both transformed the packaging approach into a worldwide experience.” This activation represents a meaningful and precious milestone in the European FMCG area. This is the first-ever personalisation campaign held in Spain’s confectionery sector that has made packaging look this delightful and exciting. It strengthens the commercial and operational game of digital printing.
This will enable Mondelez Spain to produce more personalised innovation at scale, simultaneously mitigating waste, allowing the supply chain the needed agility and drawing a limit to overproduction that will complement seasonal demand. The campaign idea, promoting packaging, is a remarkable thought and initiative from HP and Constantia.
