UFlex is considered India’s largest international flexible packing and resolution corporation, has been granted an Indian patent (No. 567989) for its modern invention, “Waterborne Heat Seal Coating Composition and a Process for its Preparation”. This covering has been advanced as a sustainable substitute to outdated fossil-based plastic coverings, aligning with the rising demand for biodegradable and ecologically accountable packing.

The coating is intended for heat-sealable submissions, contributing grease and oil resistance on kraft paper and appropriate blister coverings for paper and paperboard. It is both environment-friendly and compliant with food contact guidelines. This unique coating can be practical to several packaging resources, including blister packs, food wraps, and takeaway boxes for personal care and toy products.

One of the main benefits of this invention is its user-friendliness, as it is a ready-to-use preparation that needs no dilution. It proposes a low cover beginning temperature, outstanding heat seal strength, and in height hot tack strength, while fulfilling USFDA standards for food contact packing.

An advanced resolution from UFlex’s chemicals invention portfolio, this expansion underlines the company’s widespread proficiency in packaging inks, specialty UV/LED coatings, water-based, solvent-less, and solvent-based adhesives. Its state-of-the-art R&D center, NABL (ISO/IEC 17025:2017), is credited and recognised by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
