Japanese cosmetics OEM industry, Baycosmetics, has set up a health as well as food supplements division after securing packaging resources that are facing a shortage in the country. Aluminium bags are extensively utilized for packaging in the food and nutrition sector, comprising dietary supplements and health food products. The outer coating of the bag is typically manufactured of aluminum, and the inner coat naphtha-extracted polyethylene film. Because of the constant conflict in the Middle East, Japan is confronting a lack of naphtha, with charges allegedly increasing to as much as double the standard.

As such, the capability to protect aluminum bags is progressively becoming an important factor in determining goods development in the rising health food sector. In expectation of this situation, Baycosmetics has concluded long-term supply agreements with several resources before introducing its health products and supplements trade division.

This has protected a stable distribution line for aluminum bags, which is equal to around 2% of domestic requests in Japan, or nearly around 100 million units. “Our consumers can emphasize goods sales and planning without being burdened by concerns regarding resource procurement,” the brand expressed. As per Baycosmetics, it has the capacity to offer contract producing facilities for six dosage formats, namely stick pack, hard capsule, tablet, powder, soft capsule, and jelly.

Japan depends on the Middle East for around 74% of its naphtha imports and 30% of its aluminium imports, and both are major packaging raw materials. The blockade of the Strait of Hormuz has limited naphtha transportation and set off a region-based plastic packaging crisis in Asia. Specifically, naphtha is a petroleum byproduct that is important for the solvents and resins utilized in the industrial-scale colour printing.
