Packaging solutions benefactor DS Smith has aligned Famifarm, Finlands sealed herbs and salads maker, to present a recyclable fibre-based packaging solution. The solution is planned to expand the process of packing and unpacking Famifarms lines.
Famifarms goods are circulated from their greenhouses to supplies and grocery outlets across Finland in carriage boxes. The packing structures a hatch mechanism that optimises the unpacking procedure, making it up to four times faster than previous resolutions. The packing is ergonomic and convenient to fold after use.
Famifarm CEO Jussi Loimusalo expressed:
“Our consumers, such as the retail chains, have actually liked the new practical transport box, which saves a lot of time for their staff. We value our packing partners transparency, promise to sustainability and dependability, and DS Smith has established an in-depth considerate of our processes, which enthusiastically contributed to our joint innovation expansion. We are not observing for quick wins, but a long-term collaboration.
“Our newly invented corrugated cardboard boxes are of exclusive quality and look great. The brand must be conspicuously shown.” This packaging revolution is a result of a joint determination between DS Smiths cluster plan creative professional Jyrki Petrelius and robotics practiced and growth manager Veli-Matti Karvonen.
Petrelius expressed: “This packaging resolution was planned for an automated packing line and is planned to improve the business of our buyers customers - retail stores and openings.
“At the same time, the resolution is adaptable and appropriate for large and small retail and grocery settings. The packaging defends fresh goods as before, but now speeds up emptying. The new unloading method makes the procedure easier.”
In July 2025, DS Smith Tecnicarton presented cardboard trays for automotive headlamps, aimed at replacing conformist expanded polypropylene solutions.
