Enhanced Efficiency, Reduced Footprint: Duni Group Introduces New Packaging Series

Duni Group introduced Octaview, a new packaging line for chilled foods designed to reduce climate impact and enhance overall recyclability. This new range strengthens sustainability efforts, putting the environment at the forefront of the broader packaging industry. The packaging uses a grey base rather than black, making it visible and recognized in optical sorting systems and enabling seamless recyclability. The design of this new initiative has been advanced to serve as an excellent presentation and performance.

Octaview is one of the company’s own designs, developed in line with customer insights and designed to meet higher standards of functionality and sustainability, with a focus on prioritizing food first. The shiny, clear anti-fog lid showcases the food from every angle, and the generous plating surface provides space for an impressive, graceful presentation.

The advanced construction eases the handling in stores and kitchens, while improving the visual effect of the contents. The series range is refined to improve transportability and stackability, featuring an airtight lid that safeguards food and prevents leakage.

The new packaging is made from APET, which improves recyclability volume, doubling compared to the existing Octaview version made from PS. Moreover, the change from black to grey has enabled identification in optical sorting systems, enabling more accurate recycling. The company’s calculations are verified by the Carbon Trust, showing that these changes smartly reduce CO2e emissions by around 78%, which is higher than in the existing Octaview edition.

Chief Officer Food Packaging Solutions, Duni Group, Nicklas Lauwell, said,

“Octaview is engineered to satisfy customers’ need for sustainable solutions that are qualified by practice. By merging the improved recyclability with a design that spotlights the food and eases the handling. We illustrate that functionality and sustainability can take the lead together.”

This new series focuses on catering and grocery businesses and will be commercialized in 11 different formats and sizes for cold dishes. This introduction complements the company’s range of hot meals. This serves as a complete, robust solution for sustainable take-away packaging. This new series range is itself a development within the company’s long-standing initiative for sustainable packaging solutions. Duni’s efforts will bolster the global packaging market and, alongside, promote sustainable packaging among converters and existing or new packaging enthusiasts.
