Lactips has collaborated with SmartSolve to produce plastic-free, water-soluble packaging for the cosmetics and beauty industries. The industries express that this is a market-ready substitute for traditional single-use packaging. Lactips is a French company concentrating on generating natural and completely bio-based polymers that are expected to be biodegradable and water-soluble in several ecology.
The currently developed option is based on PureNil 0, which is a bio-based functionalized paper established by the US-based industry SmartSolve, for use in plastic-free flexible packaging that quickly disperses in water without leaving microplastic deposits.
“Water-soluble, plastic-free resources have the capacity to change single-use packaging, mainly in personal care and beauty. This partnership represents how invention can translate into practical, scalable options,” explained Bertrand Dupeyroux, VP of Sales and Marketing at Lactips.
Jonathan Jakubowski, CEO and co-founder at SmartSolve, says: “Lactips has been a suitable partner in offering a plastic-free invention, which has enhanced our journey toward producing packaging no longer garbage.”
Lactips and SmartSolve showed the plastic-free packaging at Edition Spéciale by Luxe Pack in Paris, France. The industry expresses that this lead marks the start of a wider collaboration focused on speeding up the acceptance of plastic-free packaging options worldwide.
Lactips explains, supplies, and sells natural polymers that are expressed to be plastic-free, completely bio-based, water-soluble, and fully biodegradable in all ecosystems.
As per the company, “the assets of Lactips products make them a suitable response to ecological challenges in the packaging and labelling sectors, as well as for all goods associated with agriculture and outdoor training.”
Lactips manufactures fully bio-based, microplastic-free polymers taken from milk protein. Their original CareTips technology disperses fully in water and is biodegradable in complete ecosystems, showing an innovation that directly tackles microplastic contamination while supporting major businesses in navigating stringent single-use guidelines. Lactips reduces the requirement for toxic, petroleum-based coatings and PFAS by offering a grease-barrier, water-soluble, and heat-sealable paper film. When managed, the packaging disperses simply, leaving the original cellulose paper completely recyclable. In collaboration with operational paper creators like SmartSolve, Lactips has aimed at the flexible packaging requirements of the solid personal care and cosmetics sectors, decreasing problematic microplastic remains in rinse-off usages. The resources are primarily replacing unit packaging for strong detergents, cleaning soaps, and water-soluble tags utilized in circular reuse processes.
