Mondi has introduced re/loop FlowWrap for wet wipes packaging, which is in a pull-tipped format to support consumers in the personal and home care sectors evolution to more sustainable polymer-founded packaging.
Re/loop FlowWrap is a form-fill-and-seal solution (FFS) produced from mono-polypropylene (PP) that reinstates non-recyclable protection for usages needing a customisable resistance, like household wipes, baby care, and cosmetics. It is consistent with polypropylene (PP) automated recycling as per the CEFLEX D4ACE regulations and includes 35% post-consumer recycled (PCR) subject.
Mondi described that internal testing and consumer trials represented performance equivalent to virgin-based substitutes, comprising dependency sealing, resistance protection, and efficient machinability for wet wipes usage. The option corresponds with occurring packaging lines.
From 1 January 2030, the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) sets an objective of 35% recycled matter from post-consumer plastic waste for this group of plastic packaging. With 35% recycled matter, Mondi expressed that its solution is well-suited to help future conformity with this and support companies and converters in fulfilling sustainability needs while preserving product safety and line efficacy.
The business inserted those external trials on IMA Ilapak tools, confirming robust runnability at extremely superior line speeds for wet wipes covering. Industry specialists had a chance to observe the new resource at the INDEX charge last month, where IMA Ilapak and Mondi represented the re/loop FlowWrap operation live.
“With this introduction, we represent that wet wipes packaging can shift to circularity without losing performance,” expressed Alessandro DAgostino, business development manager, personal and home care, Mondi Consumer Flexibles. “By mixing a resource planned for recycling with PCR matter and superior machinability, we help consumers move faster towards sustainable packaging options while preserving functional efficacy.”
Mondi is a cosmopolitan paper and packaging group headquartered in Weybridge, England, with an extensive global track and annual income of over 7.7 billion. The company hires 24,000 people in more than 30 countries and directs an entirely integrated value chain from forest supervision to flexible plastic, pulp, and paper production.
