RDM Group Advances Sustainable Packaging with High-Strength Vincicoat Plus

RDM Group announced the launch of Vincicoat Plus (V+), which is a new generation of coated recycled cartonboard planned to offer enhanced strength while allowing meaningful packaging weight reduction. Recycled cartonboard is classically apparent to be weaker than virgin substitutes. Vincicoat Plus has been manufactured to decrease this gap, offering up to 15-20% higher strength than the industry standard WLC, while upholding a minimum of 85% recycled fiber content.

With its excellent square stiffness, the resistance to stress functional throughout bending in both machine and cross directions, V+ is the strongest GD board (WLC) RDM Group has ever delivered, allowing better performance for wrinkling and folding throughout sheet conversion, leading to packaging structures that endure higher compression resistance, consequential with high top- and side-load standards of the final box structure, a company statement whispered.

For frozen and humid applications, it is also obtainable as hard sized choice with extremely low water sponginess performance, which is also willingly available. Decrease has become a top sustainability importance for brand owners and stores. According to the company, while RDM Group has long directed the market in recyclable, circular cartonboard options, Vincicoat Plus shows a planned shift in the direction of “reduce” as well as “recycle”.

The improved structural presentation of V+ permits converters and brand owners to either decrease final packaging weight by up to 20% or uphold existing grammages while meaningfully increasing pack strength and product defense. This helps lower material utilization, decrease resource demand, and enhance efficiency, offering both environmental advantages, such as decreased deforestation, and economic advantages through optimized packaging resource usage.

Vincicoat Plus has been authenticated through external laboratory testing, comprising box compression and top-load strength tests, as well as high-speed renovation trials with converter associates. Pressure testing has also been carried out on hard-sized board (Cobb 180 seconds) in conjunction with freezing and higher-humidity conditions.

The board runs professionally across printing, cutting, and box-forming procedures and is suitable for demanding usages like large boxes necessitating high structural integrity; high-speed food and pharmaceutical packaging lines; frozen and refrigerated food packing; and heavier contents like detergents, cosmetics, and soaps. Vincicoat Plus is manufactured and produced at RDM Group’s Santa Giustina mill in Italy.

When presentation is no longer the trade-off, recycled cartonboard becomes the clear option,” expressed Krzysztof Krajewski, chief sustainability and invention officer at RDM Group.

With Vincicoat PLUS, brand owners can achieve the fortitude, durability, and dependability they need in their packaging to guard precious items, while also decreasing resource utilization and maximizing recycled fiber content. Sturdier boxes, lighter packs, and a circular option all come together, giving brands the confidence to offer excellent options to customers while supporting worldwide environmental goals.”
