Albea, a global manufacturer specializing in cosmetics, personal care, and pharmaceutical packaging, has announced the acquisition of Amfora Packaging, a Latin American packaging company specializing in the design and development of plastic packaging and caps. Albea Group, currently headquartered in Bogota, Colombia, is proceeding with the acquisition to boost its presence in the Latin American region.
Amfora Packaging is expected to provide its expertise in designing and developing plastic packaging to Albea for serving in various industries like fragrance, cosmetics, pharma, and personal care. The acquisition also aims to expand its offerings in color cosmetics, skincare, and other categories.
The CEO of Albea Group, Francois Tassart, said,
“Albéa is taking a proactive step to strengthen its global footprint and complement its existing operations in the U.S. and Mexico. With its strong customer intimacy, Amfora Packaging will give Albéa direct access to key players in the beauty and personal industry, it will help us continue serving at best our international customers, and meet the growing demand for local sourcing.”
The Senior Vice President of Albea Group also mentions the acquisition as a milestone in the company’s aim to lead the beauty packaging industry across all regions. He also expressed Amfora as an ideal partner as both companies share the same commitment and passion towards serving their consumers.
Amfora Packaging, founded in 2015 by ACON, marks a significant step forward in reinforcing its position in the beauty and personal care products market.
Albea Group is also constantly adopting smart packaging in its bottle product lines, which include QR codes and NFC chips that allow consumers to access ingredient information and usage instructions, participate in loyalty programs, verify the product's authenticity, and also get personalized skincare recommendations.
