Amcor, a well-known leader in producing and implementing effective packaging solutions, received the Luxe Pack in Green Award for its robust CleanStream recycling technology. The technology was ramped at Luxe Pack in Monaco. The award was a celebration of innovative efforts in eco-friendly development for beauty packaging. CleanStream won the award under the CSR initiative category. The win was justified due to the technology’s well-engineered process, which locally recovered household waste polypropylene (PP) for use in packaging for contact-precious applications.
The AI technology yields superior polymer purity, which can be further enhanced to achieve increased percentages in every type of pack. Primarily, those that require a higher level of aesthetics and/or functional performance, such as personal and beauty care. The technology is a shift and an advancement in the packaging industry. With this award, Amcor will attract brands and achieve profitable fruition, further delivering excellence across all platforms through the performance of its cleanstream technology.
The CleanStream’s benefits include the consistency of physical properties and excellent aesthetics, enabling beauty brands to create impressive and effective packaging with a lower carbon footprint compared to using virgin polymer. It also fulfils the consumer demand for eco-friendly, sustainable packaging. Additionally, this also enables companies to meet the requirements of legislation such as plastics packaging, PPWR, and tax.
The vice president of sales, beauty, and wellness at Amcor, Arnaud Amouroux, said, “We are excited to receive this precious award, which I call a testament to the commitment and technical skills of the whole Cleanstream team. The primary objective behind introducing CleanStream was to produce the highest-quality post-consumer recycled PP, making it accessible at the highest level to meet the demand from industries across Europe and the UK. This technology has already been used for numerous known brands, reflecting our investment and trust in technology.”
The facility of Amcor’s CleanStream in Leamington Spa recycles around 40% of the segregated PP waste in the United Kingdom. Fueling Amcor’s global presence and popular supplier collaborations, the company to date has saved the availability of 50,000 tons of the UK’s curbside-gathered PP waste annually. Additionally, over 1 billion individual packaging items are capable of identifying their customers’ sustainable and eco-friendly objectives on a vast scale. Cleanstream adds value to the unit of waste PP by storing resources in use, unlike incineration, landfills, or surrounding areas.
