Design-Driven Growth Berlin Packaging Strengthens Beauty Sector Positioning 

Berlin Packaging has maintained its position and has shined for a long time in the beauty sector. Berlin goes beyond just the brand, as its sustainable and creative beauty packaging solutions are focused on providing effective, safe, and convenient ways to simplify packaging operations. 

Its core focus on bespoke design, hybrid formats, and refillable systems captivated the beauty sector through its dedicated in-house studio One Eleven and ‘Berlin Packaging Beauty’ division. The company's ongoing efforts to introduce new systems and products have best matched recent market trends and innovations emphasizing functionality, visual appeal, and sustainability.  

The Managing Director of Berlin Packaging Beauty, Vivien Charrey, said, “Within a short period, the supplier of metal, plastic, and glass packaging, along with the closures, has become an important player throughout the EMEA region. Its skyrocketing expansion has been bolstered by a smart and dedicated acquisition strategy. The strategy, which is determined by a hybrid supplier model close to its identity.” 

Regarding growth, evolution, initiatives, and more, the managing director shed light on the subject. Vivien proudly added, “We have achieved our growth through precise, focused takeovers, mainly by integrating with Premi, an Italian company in 2021, and Cosmei this year. This recent acquisition is a brilliant strategy that leverages the emotions of Italy’s Cosmetic Valley. Its specificity strengthens our portfolio, especially in the makeup category.” 

Regarding external growth initiatives, Vivien stated that they will continue focusing on expanding these efforts. The company plans to acquire space and pitch strong deals where opportunities exist to strengthen their presence in the region. The goal is to develop into a hub for a comprehensive packaging solution, aiming for full-service packaging. Berlin is also working towards establishing organic growth programs to enhance and broaden their offerings.  

Vivien commented on its approach to the value proposition for Berlin. The perspective on the value proposition for Berlin includes offerings that cover a broader spectrum. Both custom and standard solutions involving fully bespoke developments are best managed. Additionally, Berlin's robust decoration potential allows for a peak level of personalization. In the fragrance sector, where the key glassmakers dominate the market, Berlin positions itself through accessories and decorations. In the skincare area, the company aims for semi-custom solutions.
