Coveris, a leading Europe-based packaging company, introduces its new recyclable film for Brzesc’s ‘puff’ package. The collaboration aims to introduce a film that has lower packaging waste and advanced shelf appeal.
The innovation by Coveris is helping to improve the transparency for consumers as they can view the product directly on the shelf. The recyclable film is also optimized with 8-colour flexographic printing with optional gloss or matt finishes, helping the brands to improve their identity.
Brzesc, since 1984, has been working on various product lines like puffs, mini eclairs, puffs to fill, and mini puffs. They have a collaborative relationship with Hadepol Flexo, which was acquired by Coveris Rypin in June 2024. The partnership between these companies has managed the full-scale production of recyclable mono-material film.
Arkadiusz DrÄ Å¼ek, CEO of BrzeÅÄ, said, “The demand for recyclable packaging materials is aligned with the European Union Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, which requires that all packaging placed on the EU market is recyclable by 2030. Our new packaging responds to this regulation and supports the reduction of packaging waste.”
Brzesc is expected to expand its presence across Western Europe, the Middle East, and the North Africa region due to its eco-friendly packaging adoption. Majorly, the expansion is supported by Halal certification for products suitable for Muslim consumers in the Middle Eastern countries.
Wojciech Jankowski, the sales head at Coveris, said, “We are very pleased with the successful launch of puff products in recyclable BOPP [biaxially oriented polypropylene] films, produced at our Rypin facility. He further added, “This sustainable alternative to nonrecyclable materials offers the same protective performance while saving resources and helping both suppliers and food chains in meeting their sustainability goals.”
