Coveris has officially launched its latest board-based MAP tray solution for the meat, fish, and poultry industry, which is made of plastic by 90% in between tracking shelf life and recyclability.
The current BarrierFresh MAP trays have an integrated "sustainably linked “board that has its own particularly created EVOH barrier film to serve a completely sensitive and hermetically packed single-SKU pack that manages product recyclability and reliability for the frozen fish, meat, and poultry space. The taurus also has a 21-day shelf life. They are crafted for the breaded poultry, meat, and fish space, as well as ready meal food uses.
Coveris has stated that BarrierFresh MAP trays are stackable, lightweight, and aligned with several machinery lines, pointing to different applications. This official launch goal is to serve producers a sustainable choice that does not adjust with a product result or the shelf request.
At the same time, Coveris has announced that it has expanded its SourceTag security solution to include printed cartons, aimed at addressing growing theft in the fresh meat, beverage, and premium products industries. The current protective cartons are to be completely designed and automated to operate smoothly with an anti-theft solution and in-store electronic article surveillance for high-value fast shifting consumer goods (FMCG) lines.
