INEOS Styrolution announced its modern circular packaging innovation: sour cream cups, which are made up of 30% recycled polystyrene, and are available in ALDI SÜD supplies across Germany since the commencement of this year.

Established in partnership with expansion partner Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller and ALDI SÜD, this shows a significant step forward in grading sustainable food packages for mass-market usage. In July 2025, these sour cream cups were identified with the German Packaging Award in the "Sustainability: recycled content" group. This is the second profitable roll-out of food-grade recycled polystyrene via INEOS Styrolution with a top German seller, emphasizing its position as a leader in the contest to decarbonise packing. This change comes as the packing industry makes for firmer EU guidelines below the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). INEOS Styrolution has previously succumbed to an official EFSA request for its original recycling skill, underlining its promise to supervisory compliance and innovation.
