Sacchital is boosting its production with a new 2,200 sqm flexographic printing facility in Pregnana, featuring a state-of-the-art Bobst Vision CI press. Developed with support from Emilio Alliegro, sales manager at Bobst Italia, the plant represents a key milestone in the company’s strategic growth plan.
“This new facility is built to house four flexo machines along with supporting technologies and is central to Sacchital’s expansion strategy,” said Alberto Palaveri, executive board member of the Sacchital group. “It reflects an ambitious program to enhance our flexographic capabilities, enabling us to serve a more diverse and fragmented market more efficiently and cost-effectively.”
One of the major challenges that converters face today is keeping up with the rapid pace of the modern packaging industry.
“Everything is accelerating processes, innovation, personnel, and communication,” explained Sara Alexander, marketing and communication manager for flexible packaging at Bobst. “In today’s fast-moving market, people simply don’t have the time to wait, and customers expect quick, reliable responses across every sector. This puts pressure on companies to be faster, more agile, and more efficient in every aspect of their operations.”
The demand in today’s packaging industry extends beyond speed to include versatility. Packaging solutions must perform across a wide range of substrates, ink systems, finishing techniques, sealing technologies, and color management platforms, all while prioritizing sustainability. According to a Bobst release, the Bobst Vision CI press is designed to meet these exact needs. Engineered for efficiency across all run lengths and substrate types, it provides fast setup and changeover, advanced automation, and consistent repeatability with minimal waste. For Sacchital, this makes it the perfect solution to expand and diversify its product offerings even further.
“We are strengthening our position in core sectors like bakery and related products, while also targeting growth in the pharmaceutical, household, and personal care markets,” said Palaveri. “Additionally, we are helping brand owners make the shift from plastic to paper-based packaging solutions.”
“Collaborating with Sacchital is a source of pride because it is a technologically advanced company with a bold, forward-thinking vision that demands excellence on every level,” said Alliegro. “We are happy to support its growth through the performance and reliability of our machines, as well as the expertise provided by our Competence Centers, including the one in San Giorgio Monferrato.”
The new Vision CI is expected to streamline overall workflow, significantly boosting productivity and efficiency across the plant. A major factor in Sacchital’s choice was the Vision CI’s ultra-fast setup, powered by Bobst’s proprietary smartGPS (Graphic Positioning System), which greatly reduces time, material waste, and ink consumption during changeovers.
