In June 2026, Toppan launched paper-based pillow packaging. The new packaging is developed for trading cars, and it is light-shielding packaging. The new packaging is available in June for the manufacturers of trading cards. The new packaging contains zero plastic and features a metallic sheen. The packaging has a high-quality finish and prevents pack searching.

  • Prevents Pack Searching: The application of aluminum vapor deposition helps in achieving 98% or more than 98% light shielding. Theses ensures invisibility of the content till the opening of the package. The aluminum vapor deposition offers design flexibility and vivid color.
  • Minimal Wrinkling: The company manufactured pouch-making machinery for the development of paper-based pillow packaging. This new machine features folding jigs and optimized feed rollers. This new machine achieves high-speed folding and reduces wrinkling. The new machine tackled the wrinkling issue that occurred in paper packaging.
  • The yearly production capacity of the new system is 30 million packs. The company is going to support overseas and Japan-based trading card and related to trading card companies. The mass production of paper-based pillow packaging starts in Autumn 2026.
