Recycled cartonboard is naturally presumed to be weaker than virgin substitutes. Vincicoat PLUS has been engaged to decrease this gap, offering up to 15-20% higher strength than the company standard WLC, while preserving a lowest of 85% recycled fiber content. With its higher square difficulty, the pressure resistance applied at the time bending in both cross directions and machine, V+ is the strongest GD board (WLC) RDM Group has always presented, allowing better presentation for wrinkling and folding during sheet conversion, leading to packing structures that resist higher compression resistance, ensuing with high top- and side-load values of the final box construction. For frozen and humid usages, it is also obtainable as hard sized option with extremely low water permeability performance, which is also willingly available.
Reduction has become a key focus for brand owners and retailers as sustainability increasingly shapes packaging strategies. While RDM Group has long been recognized as a leader in recyclable and circular cartonboard solutions, the launch of Vincicoat PLUS marks an important evolution in their approach, emphasizing not only recycling but also the principle of “reduce.” The innovative structural properties of Vincicoat PLUS provide converters and brand owners with greater flexibility: they can either decrease the final packaging weight by up to 20% or maintain current grammages while significantly enhancing pack strength and product protection.
This advancement allows companies to minimize material usage, lower resource demand, and achieve greater operational efficiency. Beyond the clear environmental benefits, such as reduced deforestation and lower carbon footprint, Vincicoat PLUS also delivers tangible economic advantages by optimizing the use of packaging materials, demonstrating that sustainability and performance can go hand in hand.
Vincicoat PLUS has been widely validated through external laboratory testing, comprising box compression and top-load forte tests, as well as high-speed conversion hearings with converter partners. Pressure testing has also been carried out on hard-sized board (Cobb 180 seconds) in a mixture with freezing and raised-humidity conditions. The board runs professionally across printing, cutting, and box-forming procedures and is suitable for demanding usages such as large boxes necessitating high structural honesty; high-speed food and pharmaceutical packaging lines; chilled and frozen food packaging; and heavier items like detergents, cosmetics, and soaps.
This announcement is also influenced by RDM Group’s extended multi-mill engineering platform. Following the incorporation of the Swedish Fiskeby mill, long identified for producing the sturdiest recycled cartonboard in the market, RDM Group has simulated and scaled this presentation across its European mill network. Vincicoat PLUS is manufactured and produced at RDM Group’s Santa Giustina mill in Italy, helping consistent quality and dependable supply across Europe.
