From groundbreaking sterile packaging to attaining major sustainability milestones, Wipak sets a new benchmark for the future of packaging. With a robust legacy and bold vision, Wipak sets the stage for carbon neutrality, digital invention, and worldwide leadership in packaging.
Wipak, a worldwide leader in sustainable packaging options, has unveiled its new business plan extending to 2030, supporting its promise of innovation, sustainability, and digitalization. Building on more than six decades of proficiency, Wipak focuses on redefining packaging for the healthcare and food industries globally.
“Leading a group that is a Finnish institution in packing is a matter of pride,” expresses Karri Koskela, CEO of Wipak. “Our new plan is clear: digitalization and sustainability are not elective; they are important. Together with our customers and partners, we are determining the future while never overlooking our core drive: to protect what matters most.” The Wipak’s 2030 business plan focuses on three pillars
Carbon Neutrality: Wipak endures its journey toward complete carbon neutrality, building on noteworthy progress already attained. Through funds in technology, renewable energy, and procedure optimization, the company is dedicated to decreasing releases across its processes and supply chain.
Digital Transformation: With ideas such as Digital Choice, Wipak is spinning packaging into a smart, collaborating platform. Digital Choice delivers fraud safety, recycling guidance, and improved quality control, while allowing direct customer engagement and enhanced supply chain transparency.
Circular Economy Leadership: Wipak champions Recycle Ready Design, confirming packaging resources are compatible with the present recycling infrastructure. By optimizing polymers, inks, and adhesives, the corporation helps circular economy goals and reduces resource complexity for easier recycling. To help these ambitions, Wipak has capitalized nearly €200 million in new and promoted assets over the past five years and extended its footprint to 11 sites across Asia and Europe, employing 1,800 professionals devoted to invention and sustainability.
Collaboration remains central to Wipak’s approach. The company works carefully with industry links, NGOs, and supervisory bodies to define common sustainability aims and advance innovation. Wipak’s efforts have received worldwide credit, comprising a position in the top 5% of EcoVadis sustainability rankings.
“Our 2030 vision sets a clear way,” expresses Koskela. “We are dedicated to converting packaging into a sustainable and digital option that generates value for our consumers and protects the world we share.”
