Kent Road Capital has established a new platform company, Bloor Street Flexibles, and successfully completed its first acquisition in the North American flexible packaging industry. The Toronto-based private equity company stated that Bloor Street Flexibles has been set up as a devoted platform emphasized on flexible packaging.
The firms debut contract is the purchase of a producer of sustainable flexible films distributing to consumers in the food & beverage, agriculture, and industrial segments across Canada and the U.S. Bloor Street Flexibles has been recognized in combination with Dave Timm, a senior company executive with more than 30 years of involvement in flexible packaging. Timm, who has held senior leadership positions at Charter Next Generation and Pregis, will be a major planned partner to the new platform.
Kent Road Capital announced that the new platform is part of its plan to enter the North American flexible packaging market, with an emphasis on partnering with producers of specialty films and sustainable packaging solutions.
Kent Road Capital received legal advice on the deal from Torys and Lavery, while Portage Point Partners served as the economic adviser. Kent Road Capital capitalizes on businesses in the industrial and facilities sectors.
