Nelipak Acquires Merrills Packaging to Expand Healthcare Packaging Portfolio

Nelipak® Corporation, a recognized global leader in healthcare packaging solutions, has officially announced the completion of its acquisition of Merrills Packaging. Merrills Packaging is well-known for its expertise in providing custom thermoformed packaging solutions tailored to the life sciences, medical device, and pharmaceutical industries, as well as other high-demand sectors.

In addition to its primary thermoforming capabilities, Merrills Packaging also offers a range of complementary products and services, including die-cut pouches, mounting cards, and value-added services such as pattern development and tooling. The company operates from two ISO 13485-certified facilities, one located in Burlingame, California, and the other in Alajuela, Costa Rica, both of which are equipped with ISO Class 8 cleanrooms to ensure the highest quality standards are met for its clients sensitive products. This acquisition marks a significant expansion of Nelipaks capabilities, further strengthening its position in the healthcare and life sciences packaging markets.

Merrills Packaging was founded in 1961 and, over more than six decades, has matured into a leader in custom thermoforming by meeting its customers unique requirements and consistently delivering quality, service, innovation, and professional consideration. Merrills growth milestones include entering the Costa Rica market in 2010 and opening a new, larger site in Costa Rica in 2024.
