AGI Greenpac, a parent brand of a glass packaging company, AGI Glaspac, has broken ground on an aluminium beverage can production facility in Hathas, Uttar Pradesh, that has showcased an investment of Rs. 1,000 crore.
The greenfield facility has spent 34 acres and is scheduled to start operations in the very first half of the year 2027. It has officially launched two manufacturing lines with an integrated output of 1.6 billion cans per year, with a starting manufacturing capacity of 1.3 billion cans annually. According to the brand, every line can be updated to 1 billion cans yearly, which passes through debottlenecking and the revelation of a necking technology that delivers total capable capacity to a complete 2 billion cans per year.
The plant has produced aluminium beverage cans in sleek, standard, and slim designs to deliver beverage spaces that count beer, carbonated soft drinks, ready-to-drink beverages, and energy drinks.
Rajesh Khosla, chief executive officer of AGI Greenpac, has said that this kind of investment has reflected a very deep perspective in India's development trajectory and the crucial possibility within the domestic packaging industry. The Uttar Pradesh availability is evidence of AGI Greenpac’s loyalty to constructing future-ready designs that align with logistics capacity and operational efficiencies, which the industry demands. The Hathras facility is being constructed to receive a Platinum Green Building rating, which has the highest tier under India's green building framework. The company has officially said that the plant includes energy updation and resource efficiency across its respective region. AGI Greenpac has officially noted down that aluminium is infinitely recyclable without any kind of quality loss and is sustainable in every way.
