Evertis introduces Honeywell actor technology in a new move to optimize their manufacturing process. The adoption is expected to introduce new packaging options within the pharmaceutical sector. The move will ensure safe life-saving medications on a global level.

Jeff Dorma, the president of Honeywell Energy and sustainability solutions, said, “Honeywell developed Aclar barrier films to help empower our partners in the pharmaceutical industry to develop high-quality packaging materials that meet rigorous standards required in healthcare. He further added, “Aclar has been safely used in the pharmaceutical industry for more than 50 years, and Evertis’ selection of Aclar films supports our shared mission to help promote the safe and effective packaging of life-saving drugs, ultimately improving patient outcomes.”

The adoption is mainly helping in protection the efficacy of both prescription and over-the-counter medications. It is helping in providing a moisture barrier, which helps in improving drug stability and extending the shelf life. Moreover, the technology is also supporting the recyclable initiative in the packaging industry. The company has adopted unique production methods, which are helping in maintaining these efforts. The Evertis is planning to utilize Aclar in developing medical-grade polyethylene terephthalate (PET) packaging materials. The material is popular in the packaging industry due to its versatile properties that make it lightweight and preferable in many operations.

The integration of Aclar films into PET packaging is expected to help Evertis optimize its manufacturing process and reduce production costs. The collaboration will also improve the innovation of new sustainable packaging materials. The CSO of Evertis America, Casimiro Sacchetti, mentioned that they are thrilled to partner with Honeywell to advance in the next-gen pharmaceutical packaging. He also said, “By combining Evertis’ superior PET film and lamination expertise with Honeywell’s unique Aclar barrier technology, we are now able to offer the pharmaceutical industry premium PET-based films with outstanding thermoforming, sealing, and optical properties – while also meeting sustainability credentials.”
