TIPA® Launches High-Barrier Compostable Packaging for Food and Snacks

TIPA® Compostable Packaging is a worldwide leader in emerging and engineering compostable flexible packaging solutions, and has extended its varied portfolio to comprise four new breakthrough high-barrier film and laminate goods. With sustained development in demand for sustainable flexible packing, these new laminates align with TIPA’s mission to provide a compostable substitute without compromising performance, barrier, or machine compatibility. Major applications comprise single-serve and sachet applications, chips and other salty snacks, protein and drink powders, nutraceuticals such as gummies and vitamins, ground coffee and tea, and more.

TIPA’s new laminates provide revolutionary moisture and oxygen barrier belongings, permitting a huge variety of food products to utilize compostable packaging with no compromise on their shelf life. The new high-barrier seals comprise both paper and transparent print layers, giving brands a wide range of possibilities to fulfil the functional and aesthetic requirements of their products. All of TIPA’s films and laminates are patterned to be run on conservative packaging equipment and are printable and sealable.

“With more than 40% of customer products packaged in flexible packing and less than 1% of these being recycled in the United States, there is a requirement for more brands to select sustainable choices for their products. TIPA’s new high-barrier solutions provide more goods with the capability to shield goods and preserve shelf life with the same sturdiness and durability achieved by conventional plastic, breaking the glass ceiling for compostable packing solutions and permitting more brands to join the program,”

said Daphna Nissenbaum, co-founder and CEO of TIPA.

TIPA endures to develop the flexible packaging sector with compostable advancement that offers at the same level as predictable packaging and eradicates the lasting influence of conventional plastics. Compostable substitutes to non-recyclable resources support addressing the plastic pollution problem from the pattern phase, refining circularity for flexible and multi-layered packaging.
