In the flexible packaging segment, where performance and sustainability go hand in hand, the Vibac Group associates with firms in the fruit and vegetable business. The Italian corporation is not directly intricate in the fruit and vegetable market, but it performs an active role in the progressive fresh-cut section. It has plans that utilize advanced technologies, like CTG film, and recent innovations like the Velo project, which goals to lessen the ecological impact of packaging. The CTG packaging is one of Vibac's flagship goods for fresh-cut fruits and vegetables. Established over 20 years ago, it has always been in high demand because of its mechanical properties.
The resources are mainly supplied in thicknesses extending from 25 to 40 microns. The 25-, 30-, and 35-micron arrangements are the most widespread. Large corporations escalate their dependability and transparency and utilize it for their packing. In January 2025, Vibac formally introduced the Velo project, an innovative step in the direction of sustainability. After six months of severe work on manufacturing lines and parameters, the corporation prospered in decreasing the thickness of CTG packaging from 25 to 18 microns. In April 2025, the first reel left the factory.
Vibac's green plan emphases utilizing sustainable, innovative, certified raw resources. The corporation is ISCC PLUS certified and endorses the usage of polymers from recycled or renewable sources. The mass balance machinery provided by the ISCC certification, Vibac, can identify and track the sustainable content in its packaging. Noteworthy technological reserves are essential to produce an ultra-thin, 18-micron anti-fog packaging. A bump plant can be as long as a football field. Decreasing the thickness of an organized packaging from 25 to 18 microns on such a large-scale machine essential us to fully reset the procedure parameters. It was moderately intricate, but we overpowered the tasks, and now the resources are in high demand.
The Vibac S.p.A. Group was founded in Ticineto, in the northern Italian area of Piedmont. Its manufacture services are located in Serbia, Italy, and Canada. There are two key divisions: Adhesive tapes and BOPP (biaxially oriented polypropylene) film.
Giuseppe Leone, Vibac's R&D and product manager, expressed, "Our core business is producing transparent, biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film for snacks, pasta, and confectionery. In some applications, converters transform this uncoated film by printing on it, laminating it, or equipping it with protective barriers. Our goal is to make this packaging entirely mono-material in PP5 so that it can be easily recycled."
